I'm not just a SaviorFor the past few days, Emma had been avoiding her mother through whatever means necessary since the guys had taken Henry out hunting. Of course, Emma didn't mind so much knowing that both Killian and her father were going to be with him, but it was her mother she was concerned with. Mostly because of the conversation she overheard between them one day about the fact her mother was attempting to take her dress shopping. Not exactly one of the top things she wanted to be doing after getting herself situated in the Enchanted Realm. Sure, she had done it once before, but she wasn't exactly looking to stay for awhile having been separated from everyone including her son Henry. This time, though she had everyone she loved including Killian making her smile a bit as she stared at the ring on her finger. Hard to believe that only about two weeks ago she and Killian had been married and whisked away to her parents homeland. She took a moment to look at the beautiful diamond ring still amazed by it all as she made her way to the kitchen. After all it had been a lot easier avoiding her mother when Killian and the others had been around, now that it was just the girls it was rather hard. Besides, she was still rather unsure how she felt about being reunited with her parents, considering they had still abandoned her. Even if it was for a good reason, it still didn't make it exactly right in Emma's mind after everything she'd been through.that's only half of who I am.
Which she suspected was exactly the reason why Mary Margaret was attempting to get her to go dress shopping. Wanting a chance to truly bond with her daughter or so she suspected. Not exactly a bad thing necessarily, but she just wasn't a dress-wearing girl unless it really was necessary. Course, if Emma would have had her way, she wouldn't have worn a dress even at her wedding, but well her mother had persisted as had Killian and she had her hands tied. Now, though, she was much happier in her normal wear or at least as close to that as possible. If anything she had been insistent in keeping her red leather jacket even if she was technically a princess. A title that she didn't find she really liked, but then again she didn't like being called the 'Saviour' either considering the added responsibility. It wasn't easy being considered a leader by the people for something she felt was purely coincidental in her eyes. In fact, the only one that seemed to see her for more than that was perhaps Killian, though he certainly made it his job to encourage her. Something she had become to depend on when her confidence started to wane under the pressure of it all. She shook her head of the thoughts as she slipped down into the kitchen of her parent's castle looking to get herself a snack.
If she was lucky, she could avoid her mother once again, but she was well aware that it wouldn't last forever. Sooner or later her mother would eventually find her, she just preferred later. She smiled gently at some of the kitchen staff sighing when they looked up to see her and would bow before her. It was yet another thing she was unaccustomed to since arriving in this place given that normally people didn't do that. Even more unusual was the fact that she had people to make food for her and do simple chores that she was more than capable of dealing with. After greeting the staff and having them try to fuss over her for about 5 minutes she finally dismissed them. She just wasn't in the mood to have someone waiting on her at the moment as she made to get herself something to eat. Course, it was only then that she realized she wasn't really sure what there was to eat since it was clear things were very different. Sighing she grabbed two pieces of freshly made bread and set herself down at the kitchen table with a book she had taken from the family library. After all, she needed to get her brain wrapped around this new world and at least they had some information for her. Granted, she was certainly no bookworm, but she was at least resourceful as she flipped through the book on manners and royalty.
She supposed she could have asked her parents or even Regina who was in a better mood, but she hated to feel incompetent in this new world. She would eventually adapt though it would most likely take time since she didn't have years of experience living the life of a princess. Once again, a decision that was stripped away from her when she was barely a day old. She turned though when she heard a familiar voice from behind her, turning slowly to see her mother standing there.
